Q: Where do I start at OSU and St. John?

A: Right here at St. John Catholic Student Center! We are located right next to Boone Pickens Stadium, at 201 N. Knoblock, and are an easy walk from campus. Come into the Church and Student Center anytime during the week to meet other OSU students, our staff, and connect on GroupMe to stay involved in our weekly events.

Q: What do Mass times look like at St. John?

A: During the school year, St. John has Mass every day (except Saturdays) and twice on Sunday. Confession and Adoration are also offered one hour before every Mass, except on Fridays, which is one hour after daily Mass. You can check out updated Mass times on our website at catholicpokes.com.

Q: Does St. John do any fun events throughout the year?

A: St. John has student activities every week! This may look like daily welcome week events, s’mores after Candlelight Mass, student lunch on Thursdays, student supper on Sundays, or random bingo nights and movie nights in the quad. The opportunities are endless, and you get to enjoy them all. Plus, multiple retreats, pilgrimages, and conferences to attend all year, which are some of the biggest highlights for many St. John students every year!

Q: What kind of spiritual formation is provided?

A: So many options; here are a few!

  • Weekly Bible Study
  • Guest Speakers from all over the world
  • FOCUS Discipleship
  • Monthly Sacred Seminars
  • Catholicism 101 / OCIA: attend weekly classes to learn about the Catholic faith, learn Church teaching, and can become Catholic
  • Vocational discernment groups
  • Spiritual Direction with Father Kerry

Q: Can I study and hang out at St. John?

A: YES! The whole point of the Catholic Student Center is to allow college students to study, hang out, and grow in their faith together. There are multiple study rooms for students to study quietly, and plenty of places for students to hang out and have fun together. Also, students can host both Bible Studies and small group meetings at St. John anytime during open hours.

Q: Why should I go to St. John?

A: St. John provides a place of refuge for students to study and spend time together, but the Church connected to the Student Center is the whole purpose. An encounter with Jesus Christ through the Sacraments and in the Holy Eucharist is the central mission of St. John. Students come here to find Jesus and know His Love. He is here for you, and so are we.
